My hotel is one of the highly preferred hotels in the metro. I have a lot of clients both local and tourists. My name is Roberto and I am a proud businessman. To tell you frankly, I inherited my hotel from my grandfather. I was the only grandchild. My father passed away when I was just a kid and my grandpa was the one who took care of me. He treated me like his own son. I did everything to please him. I studied well and took up business management. When my grandfather passed away two years ago, he gave me his hotel business.
Handling the business operation of the hotel was a challenging task. Not only that I have to make sure that the business will prosper, but I also have to make sure that I will be able to give honor to my grandfather. This hotel is his legacy and I should do everything to make it profitable. Even though I have hotel managers, I still personally oversee the entire business operation. I make sure that everything is in order and that the hotel guests are extremely happy with the hotel’s service and amenities.
My hotel’s tagline is “home away from home.” Hence, I make sure that the guests are comfortable throughout their stay. I have a maintenance team who makes sure that everything is in perfect working condition from the lighting, emergency alarm, elevator, electrical connection, and plumbing system. These are all important elements of the hotel business as they keep the guests feel at home. My maintenance team performs routine check and necessary repair every month. I know for a fact that if the customers are not satisfied with the services they received from my hotel, then they will no longer patronize my business.
One of the crucial things for hotel business is maintaining an excellent workforce. The secret to my hotel business success has always been my ability to see if a person has what it takes to work in my hotel. Those who work in hotels should be accommodating, always smiling, polite, full of positive vibes, and many other things. I will never hire anybody who has the attitude that could possibly ruin the hotel experience of my guest, so I always am hands on in choosing employees. Other businessmen would have their human resources do this job, but I am most hands on when it comes to these things because I strongly believe that great employees will be the key to the success of any business, especially in the hotel industry.
Since the time I started managing our family hotel, I have not received any complaints because I know that each and everyone of my employees are working at their best. I also make sure to always give them incentives so that they will not find any reason to slack off. I provide my employees the care they need, so that they in turn, would take care of the needs of our clients.
